I'm Lawrence Ngo, a Director of Design with over a decade of experience leading multidisciplinary teams across product design, UX strategy, and brand systems. I'm currently leading design at AnyRoad, a Series B SaaS company building the operating system for branded experiences. My work usually sits in the space between strategy and execution: defining the system, shaping the customer journey, aligning the team, and getting the details right.
I'm a Design Director with over a decade of experience leading multidisciplinary teams across product design, UX strategy, and brand systems. Currently at a Series B SaaS company, I drive experience strategy across platform modernization, new business incubation, and premium membership ecosystems.
I specialize in transforming complexity into clarity: building scalable design systems, launching new verticals from zero, and crafting thoughtful, human-centered solutions that serve both business goals and user needs. Always exploring, always iterating, with intention, precision, and a deep love for the craft.
I'm passionate about cultivating high-EQ, collaborative teams that thrive on critique, care, and craft, elevating both the product and the people behind it. Reasonable people can disagree on the answer; the design leader's job is to make sure the right question is on the table.
"A great design leader's job isn't to make every decision. It's to make sure the right decisions get made."
Design, for me, is about crafting experiences that are intentional, intuitive, and impactful. Whether it's shaping a brand, scaling a platform, or leading a team, I focus on the systems and details that make interactions feel effortless and meaningful for both users and the business.
End-to-end experience, interaction, and visual design across enterprise SaaS, consumer membership, and live experience products.
Framing the right problem, mapping the customer journey, and aligning product, brand, and operations on a single direction.
Scalable, opinionated systems that accelerate velocity without flattening craft. Shipped systems used across multi-product portfolios.
Identity, voice, and positioning for new ventures and partnerships. From naming through full visual systems.
Editorial-grade craft for premium consumer products, including type systems, photography direction, and interactive surfaces.
High-fidelity prototypes in Figma and code to de-risk complex flows before engineering writes a line.
Fluent in Figma, Sketch, and Adobe. Hands-on across the no-code and low-code stack: Webflow, Memberstack, Stripe, Vercel, Supabase, Zapier, and whatever else gets the program shipped. Comfortable in HTML and CSS. Knowing how things actually ship keeps the work honest. If it can't ship, it isn't a design.
Hiring, mentoring, and elevating designers across product, brand, and research. Building cultures of critique, care, and craft.
Building the strategy, system, and operating model for AnyRoad's premium membership division. Seven years, dozens of programs, a single coherent product.

Through his hard work, attention to detail, quick turn-around times, and never-faltering enthusiasm, he has become a highly valued and key member of the Otsuka Creative Team.
Lawrence is instrumental in nurturing satisfaction in our client relationship through the consistently high standards of creative deliverables in our multiple US releases and EU release, and all the associated documentation and dev support that this requires.
Despite the short notice, and the fact that we as a team were currently traveling, Lawrence was central to the effort in producing our response and recommendations deck, a very strategic UX deliverable on the account, whilst working on planes and late hours. The outcome: very well received by our client in both the US and the UK, and rather than just actioning small changes, resulted in approval for a full redesign of the web portal site architecture for our EU release.
In such a short amount of time you've become such a tremendous force not only in our design team but the overall AnyRoad team. I love the energy, the passion, and the creativity you bring to the team.
No matter how difficult the job is you always find a way to get it done, and done well. Congratulations on your first year!
As you know, Otsuka is more often than not a very demanding account, and I want to take a moment to recognize a member of the team. On an ongoing basis, Lawrence exceeds my expectations and helps the team push to wrap up docs, most of which are dropped on us at the last minute.
I'm not only impressed by his dedication to stay online or at the office with me working through changes to completion, but also his positive attitude. He is a great example for the project team as a whole and I'm grateful to work with him.
